Originating from the UK in the early 1990s, Garage developed from 2-Step House. Garage usually features a distinctive 4/4 percussive rhythm with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals and snares, and in some styles, beat-skipping kick drums. Garage tracks also commonly feature 'chopped up' and time-shifted or pitch-shifted vocal samples complementing the underlying rhythmic structure at a tempo usually around 130 BPM. UK garage was largely subsumed into other styles of music and production in the mid-2000s, including Dubstep and Grime.
Download Garage samples to get that grungey underground sound in your tracks. Our Garage sample packs feature lots of trippy beats, catchy hooks, moody bass lines, lush chord progressions, crisp drums, foley atmospheres, and unique FX. These Garage sounds can be added to House tracks or other EDM projects to give them that quintessential Garage rhythm.
